Reasons to Live

I used to feel like I would

Never make anyone proud

I wasn’t successful in the traditional ways

There were so many

Reasons why I should be considered a failure

Yet

They don’t see the way I love

The way I feel

The way I see the world

The way i hold others

The way i inspire

The way i aspire

They way i live

And press on

And this is why

I should be proud of myself

Even if no one else

Sees the way i shine

They will never know

My story the way that i do

The heights I’ve reached

The valleys I’ve struggled through

The beauty I’ve created

The songs I’ve sung

The lives I’ve changed

I am a successful

Because i am
